Supplies:
5” x 27” fabric strip
¼” elastic cut to 10”
Scissors
Pins or clips
Matching thread
Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Fold short edges together, right sides facing each other and sew along the short edge.
Step 2: Adjust fabric tube so seam is in the middle and on the bottom facing down. Fold each side of the top piece towards the center. Fold the bottom piece over the top so right sides are facing together and pin.
Step 3: Sew along edge making sure to keep the middle fold out of the way. When you run out of fabric, pull the center fabric towards you and continue to sew until you are about 2 inches from where you started. Be sure to backstitch.
Step 4: Through the 2in gap that you left, pull the fabric through so it is right sides facing out.
Step 5: Attach clip or safety pin to elastic piece and feed through the 2in gap until edges meet. Tie or sew edges of elastic together. Adjust fabric around elastic evenly.
Step 6: Sew the 2in gap closed as close to the edge as possible.
